Today, I am excited to share Hannah and Clay’s engagement session. Their engagement session was at Inniswood Gardens and Uptown Westerville. Inniswood Gardens is a beautiful botanical garden and nature preserve in Westerville, close to Columbus.
Get to know the Bride and the Groom
Hannah attended college at Capital University and graduated in 2017 with her BSN. She worked on a MedSurg/Intermediate unit for 2.5 years. She is currently a Nurse Administrator at a hospital in Columbus, Ohio. In August 2019, she began her Masters degree obtaining her FNP. Hannah is on track to graduate August of 2021 before her wedding.
Clay attended Akron University his freshman year and transferred to The Ohio State University his sophomore year. He graduated in 2014 with a degree in Construction Systems Management. Clay has worked at a construction company in Columbus, Ohio for the past 5 years where he is currently training to become the next project manager.
The couple met through Hannah’s cousin. Ironically, they attended the same High School. Clay was a Senior when Hannah was a sophomore but their paths had never crossed until they were introduced to each other in 2018. They were immediately drawn to each other and the rest is history.
In October 2020, Clay asked Hannah if they could stop to see the house that they were building before heading to his parents. When Hannah pulled up to the house to meet Clay, he was no where to be found. So she got out of her car and walked towards the giant hole in the ground where the house would eventually stand. When she got to the edge, she looked down to see bright pink spray paint spelling out, “Will You Marry Me?”. Clay was on one knee next to it with the ring box opened. How creative is that? Way to go Clay on a perfect proposal!
Date Nights
This couple’s date nights look a little different now. But Pre-COVID, they enjoyed going to concerts a lot! Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen are their two favorite artists. They also enjoy nice dinners, strolling at Easton and going to outdoor patios with live music. Now a days, they spend most nights, including date nights, at home snuggled on the couch. They either watch movies or watch Netflix while eating ice cream. Another favorite thing they enjoy doing together is rooting for their favorite teams who are the BUCKS and the Browns! I bet the big win against the Steelers lastnight made them especially happy! What do you think? AND their Bucks play tonight against Alabama!! Hopefully their team will win tonight too. Corey and I definitely hope so! GO BUCKEYES!
Vision for their October wedding at Rusty River Barn, Utica Ohio
Rusty River Barn is a premiere wedding barn and event venue. Rusty River Barn is quietly tucked away allowing guests to enjoy acres of secluded beauty that will make their special day not only one to remember, but treasure for a lifetime.
The restoration of this historical barn has made it one of Central Ohio’s most beautiful wedding locations according to the venue. While preserving the history of this farm, they have added all the modern conveniences but with a touch of vintage charm.
The venue offers several areas that may be used for ceremonies, which include the Rustic Barn, the Glass House, a sunset wedding on the deck over looking the pond, or guests can make their way down a flagstone pathway for a gorgeous natural backdrop that will frame a wedding day.
Hannah and Clay look forward to being wed and celebrating with the people they love and cherish the most. Their vision is to fill their venue with countryside charm including timeless and elegant statements on a beautiful, crisp fall day. Hannah told me this will certainly be one of their most memorable days in their lives to remember and relive forever. And I happen to be the photographer who will get to document it all! I absolutely love my job and can’t wait for their wedding day!
