I am so happy to share this beautiful engagement session I recently did at Inniswood Gardens and Uptown Westerville. Inniswood Gardens is a beautiful botanical garden and nature preserve in Westerville, close to Columbus.

Jack and Madison have such a sweet love story! They met at Cedarville University during her Senior year, where they both had a class together. They ended up sitting one seat away from each other, as they were both running late for the first class. On that first day of class, they had to pick groups to be in for a project that would last the entire semester. They ended up being in the same group!

Madison wasn’t looking for something serious, but their paths kept crossing! They were on intramural ultimate frisbee teams and ended up facing each other twice. Even after Madison talking smack to Jack about their teams playing each other, Jack was always mature about it. He never shoved the defeat in her face, and even cheered her on! They went on their first date on December 3rd, and started officially dating December 9th! They just knew it was right.

Proposal at Buckingham Palace

And the proposal was even sweeter. Jack surprised Madison for their 1 year anniversary, with a trip to London! London is very special to Madison since she had done two mission trips there with their school. After a double-decker bus tour around central London, they headed to Buckingham Palace, where it started to rain. They moved to the park next door, which is the same spot that Jack’s dad proposed to his mom at.

As Madison told me, “We got to the bench and he turned me around to face him. He got down on his knee and told me, “I love you very much. Just like my dad started their journey here, I want to start our journey here too. Will you marry me?” I was obviously overjoyed that this moment had come. I responded with, “YES, of course!”

The best part? Madison’s family was on the trip, and was able to capture the beautiful moment! Jack proposed with a custom designed ring, with her grandmother’s diamond. “ The way Jack honored his parents, mine, and my passed grandmother was so special to me. And in a city that I dearly love. Our trip was absolutely lovely and it was so special to be able to enjoy our engagement just us for a bit before coming back home.”

Having Christ as the main focus in their wedding is very important to both Jack and Madison. They are so excited to celebrate love because of Christ’s love for them! They want a celebration that is joyous, and endearing. And that is the sweetest part of all!
