Doug and Tracy’s wedding was held at Liberty Barn Church, in Delaware, Ohio. Their reception followed at the Golf Club at The Little Turtle, in Westerville, Ohio. The images that I will be sharing tell the story of their wedding day, which beautifully represented their faith, passion, and heritage.
I had been looking forward to this wedding ever since the day Tracy and I first met at a coffee shop, in Cincinnati. Tracy is a Marketing Manager for Procter & Gamble, so I knew going into the consultation that I would need to market myself effectively, given her profession. Suffice it to say, I was a bit anxious. Gahh!! So, what else was there to do but arrive early and order a dirty chai (extra dirty!), and just go for it. The extra espresso and a lot of God and fate blessed me that morning! She decided to book me right then and there. I was one happy photographer! I am pretty sure I was floating on the clouds walking back to my car. I knew that this wedding would be unique. I would have the honor of capturing moments in a way that I had not done so before.
I got to know this amazing couple better during their engagement session and the months of planning leading up to their wedding. It comes as no surprise that Doug and Tracy met on a golf course. Doug is a golf coach for Spencer Golf Academy. He has traveled abroad and has taught golf in South Korea, Japan, Thailand, China, New Zealand and Australia. He met Tracy when he hosted an Education Session for her women’s golf association, in April of 2016. Following the lesson, Doug emailed her with the subject simply stating, “Golf.” The email contained just one question. “Would you like to go play sometime?” The rest is history.
Tracy and Doug’s wedding day will not soon be forgotten. The wedding ceremony and celebration after contained visual representations of their faith, love for golf, and passion for one another. Heritage was also key as Tracy has Korean blood coursing through her veins. Part of this special day was the Pyebaek ceremony. Being particularly passionate about experiencing different cultures, I found this moment to be a harmonious display of unity, particularly given the diversity of people attending the ceremony. I will confess, I found myself full of tears…you know, the happy ones.
I am completely humbled and honored to have been able to capture this day. This wedding day represents a type of beauty that the world needs to see more often.
